    Default V-rex by Carcaryas

    Hi every body,
I haven't posted any images on Zbrushcentral for a while. I'm glad now to show you some new images . I've created this bust so as to test the new functions of Zbrush 3.1, which are really interesting.
If you wanna see it, I've done a little making of, you can see it on my website (just updated) :

    great Job

    I love the V-rex design
my only comment is the texture on the mouth skin (side)
it's the same color as the upper Jaw, so it was lost in between...maybe if you use SSS shader that part will be littel redish. or paint it
    again great job

Thanks for your comments and your cheerings!

Rock-bola: I've just translated the walk through of this project in English, so you can see it from now on.

Truthhunter: I explain in my making of, among other things, my process for the texture, which is actually only painting thanks to the great function:Polypainting .

    Vrex_carcaryas7.jpg

Ashaiad: I could indeed have increased the effect of the SSS on the jaw area, but I also had to take into account the particularity of this model: it has a really rigid skin (scales) which should hardly let the light go through. besides, some areas of the model are done so as not to let the light go through (some areas of the Back Scatter Color texture are painted in black).

Bartp: I've used Mental Ray and a SSS shader for the final render.

I don't use Mental Ray but you do have a very nice tutorial on your site on SSS with MR.

Félicitations. Ahhh...l'avantage de parler la langue de l'Hexagone.
