First: I do not answer your PM.
I follow your thread a while and I try to be honest. By posting images you ask for a reply. Please do not get angry.
I've seen a long time something like 'I do not know what it is'.
I have to look carefull to see the changes.
Now I see two posts in one evening, pushing away other interesting wip's. Yes, I am a real bastard when I loose my curiosity.

I don't know how you know how to do this creature John, do you have a HPL creature/Beastiary like the D and D Monster manual as ref. I Googled this creature and found only the top half in a pencil sketch by someone, which looks exactly how you have done it.

I only ask because I have heard HPL mentioned many times before, but never read any, and I'm wondering what other amazing stuff there is in his works.

Not that I don't read, I try and pick the best and sometimes that leads you in another direction.

point-If you like monsters horror and sci-fi you will be thrilled with HPL. You may want to get a book called Lovecraft Tales.

    nonsense.

These evilly malign creatures were believed to have created and experimented on earths creatures in "jest" over 30 million years ago.

My source of what not to copy so I could make mine different. I tried to reinforce the written word.

These are done by other artists..... none of which are entirely accurate.
The only two I recognize are Wayne Barlow and King Rastel

No one forces anyone to look at any thread. If you do so, you do it because you choose to.

Me, I like the way this evolves because I've been quite surprised as this creature does not grow the way I thought it would.
Gives me a "the thing" feeling.

Baz, my friend, that was an unnecessary shot. What we do here is to further our personal art and skill with Zbrush. We could do so privately and only show finished work.

Hopefully no one comes here only looking for a way out of boredom.

Regardless, I hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Be safe and happy.

Don't let comments like Bas' get you down skullbeast. Just remember that people who don't add anything to help improve, and just hate, are as worthless as their comments.

Scroll the last one up and down on the screen...the wings seem to open and close Works better with a wheelmouse.

    Poor Gedney.

Yeah, wheelmouse works great with the "wings". Would be good to see the critter animated.
