my wildlife

This is a personal project I started last weekend, an African Cape buffalo.
I will eventually have two of them testing each other head to head.
C&C welcome.

Very nice .Hes pretty wikked :)…cant wait too see the two of them:).

Very cool, the pose brings out the character as well

I love these animal sculpts!
If it is just the very earliest part of the encounter between the bulls the pose is wonderful. If not though his hind legs need a bit more of a braced/widened stance.

awesome sculpt :+1:

Sasquatchpoacher- Thank you! I’m glad you like it.

Haeberle- Thanks! You did an Ibex, right? He looked great. A workshop is always a great way to focus on one project, I would love to do another one.

Cogu- Thank you very much.

Hugo Dionisi- Thanks! Yes, I hope to get a chance to texture it.

Monkeymuscle- Thank you! I am trying to get back to animals on my free time. It’s what makes me happy. And relaxed. Relaxed is good.

Marc Boulay- Thank you, I have admired your wildlife sculpture since I discovered your posts here a year and a half ago. I am pleased you like him so far.

Hasnz- Thank you!

Dharmaestudio- Thank you very much, I enjoy your work as well.

Deltathunder-Thanks, I am hoping to get more done soon to post the two together.

TrackZ-Thank you very much!

Mikala-Thanks, I’m glad you like him. Yes, that is a good point. When I get the other bull in place I will be adjusting them both and shifting weights around. I am looking forward to tweaking them together.

Super Glitcher- Thank you!

Hopefully I will get enough done soon to keep posting.

The buffalo looks really cool…nice and realistic! :+1:

hey heather!

great start. your animal models are really beautiful.
would be cool to see one of them on the backlegs, heading for the other. some really tense muscle deformations, so you really can feel how big those “cows” are:D .

solidSnake-Thank you.
Thanks, abyss103. That would be cool, maybe after I finish these I can do another scene.

The idea that I am going for with this one is when the two bulls get together and are just sort of starting their encounter. Not so much fighting as pushing around.
This is not final, mostly trying out the two figures together.

Great Heather,I like how you sculpt animals!

nice… i really like it … good job

almost missed this one Heather,
they look beautiful, very nice form and weight(love the very subtle hint of the ribcage…sticking out pelvis…everything is actually there)…love it !

How far are you gonna take them ? just curious !

edit: just had a second look:
>In the last pic, is it intensional that the horns together form the shape of a heart, to create some kind of duality ? Or is my imagination running wild…

Thanks for showing.
