Default DW IV - SkullTaker - AaronFang

    Hi, everyone

here is my DW 4 entry - demon lord skull taker character progress

It takes me about 2month to play with. And Thanks all guys in HXSD forum who gave me a lot help!

The idea of this demon is from warhammer. A traditional style of demon world outlook. This character is about 20x20 feet gaint lord. With the will of four lords, skulltaker leading a huge of deonm armies came to the human world...

unfortunatily, this artwork haven't moving our judges. anyway, hope you guys like it.

    Really great work, very detailed.

I have a question for you - how do you make the color map? Do you render the specmap first and then color that?

I have some experience with modeling, UVwrapping, Zbrush, and making normal maps, but making color map textures is still difficult for me.

    Thanks all you guys!!

2 Golden Yak: for color map, it really depends on which styles you are going to make this character. In this case, first, I bake normal map. and transfer some maps use crazybump. Then render some maps like AO map / Cavity map / color map in max. Drag all those maps into photoshop as base layers, and then paint on top.

Also I made a video capture of go-through for this character. If you'd like to know how I make this character.Check this link: http://video.hxsd.com/list/304_1_1 (BTW, the language of these videos are Chinese. Sorry if you cannot understand. )

Thank you for the videos, I'm sure they will be very helpful. I can watch even if I can't speak the language! And thank you for the info about textures I will try some of that for myself.
