Default Darwin's 'On The Origins of Camouflage and Fashion' - WIP 1

    or
    'The Invention of the Hat'

Thought I might challenge myself to get another one done.

Bit frightened of modelling the gunera leaves (currently a tweaked photo) but I guess once I get one done...
...but definitely looking forward to the dino legs (which are adapted monster legs)
No polypaint as yet, just a quick tint job in photoshop to figure things out... unfortunately my caterpillar
colours are a little reminiscent of Imaginism's Bad Bunny Eater.

have to work on the expression of my apeman too, I'm thinking he should feel quite puffed up and pea****-y
with his new invention of stylish headware

    Any thoughts, critique, ideas welcome

    Default Keyshot playtime

Happy new year, my fellow ZeeBees!

Been trying out the 5.1.66 demo in advance of 4r7 release this month (hopefully), and I have to say I love it...
so much more solid than ZB's native rendering systems.
I was worried about Joseph using 6 cores in his CTN demo, but it looks like KS is registering logical processors rather than physical cores.
I had all 8 assigned with various models totalling up to just under 40 million polies in the one scene, 5k HDRi lightmap, and Iwas running
ZBrush along side (without a bridge though, of course)...
The demo is only allowing me to go 1024x786 max at the mo, which is giving me (proper) render times of between 20-30 mins, depending on how much of the screen is covered with actual mesh and
whether I have ground reflections and other trimmings turned on, etc....sloooooooow! NO WONDER JOSEPH DIDN'T WANT TO SHOW THE WHOLE 165 million poly ENGNE RENDERING!

Keyshot have said that I must have the HD demo not the Pro, but we're getting pretty much the HD version, so I'm not quite clear on why I should trial the PRO version
Really hoping we get uncapped render res, turntables, and the HDRI Editor in our ZKeyshot version, but I doubt it!

Here's some samples, including some skin stuff, because I'd read comments that KS wasn't so good at it...I'd have to disagree, looks nice to me
once you tweak parameters to suit what you're after

If anyone's interested, my spec, so you can gauge against your own:

    Win 8.1
    i7 Quad core @ 3.2ghz
    24Gb Corsair vengeance
2x gtx770 (not that these matter for this test, given it's using the cpu and not the gpus )

    CAN'T WAIT FOR r7!!! 8)
