It's very nice. The only thing that strikes me is the texture - if you check pixologic.com, they have a library of textures, alphas, and metcaps you can download for free. Check the textures or metcaps - I can't remember which one - but they have one that's designed to look like the alien's skin. Otherwise, good job.

    Default Awesome!!!

Being a huge fan of the Alien saga, I must say that this is an awesome piece!!!

The only thing that stood out for me though is that the fingers are too human. If you join the four fingers into into groups of two and two than it would expand the look and be more like the Giger Alien. Although I have seen them depicted with 6 digits on each hand (like two thumbs). In other pics I've seen two thumbs and three fingers or 5 digits with the two middle fingers close together.

Don't know why, but the hand gesture has always stood out to me.

    Thanks guys!

@ remcv8 - I realized my mistake too late on the the extra thumb. I actually moved the fingers into groups, but it read as live long and prosper - not a sentiment you normally associate with the alien.

@losgunn - I'll have to look for that alien skin matcap. The skin is depicted in a lot of different ways in the source material, but none of them look like renders - I just thought it looked cool and showed the form off well. These images are actually a combo of two existing matcaps.

Great work! I quite like the pose and expression you gave it. How long did it take (if you don't mind my asking)? Keep it up!

Thanks! I spent something in the neighborhood of 50 - 60 hours on this. Seems like a while, but it went by quickly.

Thanks for taking a look! - I still haven't figured the new hard surface stuff out well enough to use it effectively. This is almost all done with the clay tubes and flatten.

Hey! I like the model very much, you did a great job. As of the pose I think it's too stiff and too symmetrical, I'd go nuts with it

Thanks for checking the model out. I love the feedback! As for posing the model, I think I have to wait for a machine upgrade to merge all the subtools. Hopefully that wont be too long from now!

very nice sculpt. Did you use reference? I only ask because the fingers are unlike the Xenomorphs hands. These are more humanoid. It's a lovely piece tho, that is for sure. Then again, it looks like a hybrid of the comic book styles and the first ALIEN designed by Giger for the first film. it's missing the middle spiked dorsal spine in the upper center of the back and the ribs are a bit too narrow.

Sorry if I'm a pain, I LOOOVE ALIEN!

Yeah I flubbed the hands a little. Most of the reference I used came from the original movie and some fan art. I had to make up a lot of the detail, and for me that was really part of the fun. I did miss a few things, and the true fans let me hear about it. The next time I tackle a beloved IP I'll stick a little closer to canon. Thanks for checking it out!
