    Hey Rick,

So happy to hear you like the sheets -> lots more coming up (man, I need 48 hours in a day, I guess you know what I mean...)
I spent a lot of time searching for the right medium in which to express myself artistically, and discovering ZBrush was a turning point -> ZBrush bridges the traditional and the digital in an exceptional way (infinite kudos to Pixolator) and it's one of the things I want this thread to reflect (-> it was great to see how "traditional" and digital sfx played together in Wolfman -> aren't these exiting times to live and work in as an artist!)
The Journal page below wasn't intended for release anytime soon; it's part of an overview I'm doing on the things that inspire / inspired me as I go along -> the whole series will show how my artistic skills evolved over the years. But I feel I should post this one now as it shows one of the biggest influences in my life... .

I value other artists comments on my works a lot, I appreciate it when someone takes the time to write me a line - so you can imagine what this means coming from you ...

Look forward (and I'm probably not the only one) to your new works (ZBrush and other!)

    Best Regards,

    Geert

womball: c'mon dewd, did you really think Bram Stoker invented vampires! ! I know that the typo isn't the best in the world but it should read 1984 instead of 1384. So, no more comments on the age thing ok? You don't have to rub it in...

    Ah, the memories!

I remember that issue of Fangoria ...and seeing the poster for Videodrome makes me want to dig the dvd out, haven't watched it in ages!

    "Long Live The New Flesh"

When my dad bought home a vcr I got Creepshow and Alien out and paused all the special effects over and over while I sketched out all the details

Great to see the young Geert at work

Rawsunlight: yeah... the good ol' days... actually, to get my hands on Creepshow I telephoned all videorental stores in a 30 Km radius, I had my dad drive 20 Km to a nearby town, pay a 125 Dollar waranty deposit so I could see it... (even got the Berni Wrightson book) Quote:"paused all the special effects over and over while I sketched out all the details"... I'm glad I wasn't the only one nuts enough to do stuff like that...

ttyl Herman , gotta' go sculptin'

Lol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also did that! I mean pausing the video and copying and sketching all those cool creatures. I remember even before, when we didn't have the vcr, I tried to take photos of Godzilla when it came on TV. Drawing monsters in school instead of paying attention was my main occupation at that time...
I'm quite sure that nowadays most of us (if not all of us) unite here at ZBrush Central .

    Cheers

NOB1:thanks for droppin' me a line & Kudos man ! Eventually I will have some new stuff to post...

digitalmind: thanks so much man , yeah Fango's cool -> I used to make xeroxes of the most gruesome images and glue them on the covers of my schoolbooks... , I reread from time to time, so much fun to read about new movies & discovering cult stuff like Phantasm & the carnival of Souls. Would be awesome though to see a ZBrush sculpt of the Tall Man, the Spheres & his minions - someone should do one!

Ecthelion: quote:"Drawing monsters in school instead of paying attention was my main occupation at that time...I'm quite sure that nowadays most of us (if not all of us) unite here at ZBrush Central" same here - thank god for awesome soft like ZBrush and the internet! Dang I even sketched out entire movie scenes as comic book pages (Videodrome scene where James Woods gets swallowed by the tv-set, Charlton Heston driving through empty streets in the Omega man, Scenes from the Thing, I even remember doing a flip-book animation of AAWIL David Naughton's head transforming into a werewolf)

Oh well, I'm glad I'm still as nuts today as I was back then ... .

    Fortunately!

Carpenter's The Thing was also one of my favourites btw. Considering that all the monsters were brought to life with animatronics... damn good work man!

    See ya!
