Shea Spina - w.i.p. dump

o/ ZBC. I’ve been around a couple other sites for a few years, but this is my first post here at ZBC.

Anyway, thought I’d start my little corner to dump in here in your guys neck of the woods.

So here we go, as always, c&c are appreciated. Thanks for looking.

I like the alien man,… wild!.. how do you get all the images to show up like that? Mine only show up as attachments to the thread…

Thanks bro.

For the images, when you attach it there’s a little string of text next to it before you post. Just paste in that code & you’re golden. :+1:

Excellent stuff Shea, very cool work! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Thanks Raw, I’m glad to hear it.

Here’s this evenings’ progress on this guy. He’s up to 4 hours now.

Congratulations and good luck on the contest,
Keep posting the updates :+1:
Cheers
Fernando

Hey thanks Fernando. Good luck to you too, we’re going to need it. I think Mariano’s going to serve us a beat down.

Well, here’s the 5th hour. Primarily focused on the legs/knees & arms. Didn’t do a whole lot last night, staying up late all week has started to catch up with me.

Ooh, & yeah, it’s probably mind numbingly boring for the folks around here, but I got the first 1/2 of the 10hr at x8 up on my vimeo. But yeah, it’s still 43min…http://www.vimeo.com/8904805

Best of luck & thanks for looking.

Last nights shens, diffuse w.i.p.

[textrwip.jpg](javascript:zb_insimg(‘177724’,‘textrwip.jpg’,1,0))

Getting there. Going to try tonight to put together a quick rig 'n skin job & try out some better poses. Probably wont see much render setup time for another day or 2.

Big thanks to Andre for his great work on his texture collection. Used a couple of his skin textr’s for some general roughage, as well as the lips/nips.

Thanks! o/

Well here the final image for that guy, at least for now. There’s still some things could be tidied up, but he’s made it onto the “I’m sick of looking at you” list.

o/ again zbc.

Figure I’m due to post up again a little bit of what i’ve been up to.

This passed weekend I spent some time toying about with the idea of creating (& practical application) of tileable displacement mapping.

Some preliminary results. The base geometry of the new mesh is just a plane & cylinder with some simple parametric modifiers, & of course the maps. The shot’s all displacement, no normal mapping (although making the normals etc. is simple enough).

Thanks. o/

Fernando

Hey thanks Fernando. Saw your work for last months 3dt comp. too. Very ambitious man. :+1:

Anywhoo, I’ve been away from the tablet for a while & need to get back at it. A Japanese male to dust off some cobwebs.

Thanks. o/

Samurai!

[Scrn2.jpg](javascript:zb_insimg(‘190191’,‘Scrn2.jpg’,1,0))

Very cool helmet!

Thanks man. Should only get better as long as I don’t screw it up.

It’s pretty much a standard Samurai helmet, if there is such a thing. One of the challenges w/ this has been finding consistent reference. It seems for the most part there really isn’t two sets of Samurai armor the same. So in terms of ‘design’, at least for the details, I’m really having to just mish-mash bits of different stuff I find, as well as a bit of improvising.

Anyway, here’s a progress shot, still lots of work to do.

Thanks for looking. o/
