Thank you all for the kind words! Really is awesome to hear from you all
Hey everyone! Here is a character I recently completed for 3DArtist Magazine. You can find a full breakdown of how I constructed her in issue 47, just released! I had a lot of fun making the character, writing the article, as well as completing an interview for another section of the magazine! Very exciting
If you buy a copy for yourself, you will also get a bunch of my models and brushes, including IMM brushes! Hope you all like!
Now to answer some questions -
koro - What you saw was the Spiral brush to get that sudden spin on the sculpt. My settings are practically default, what I change is the positioning settings, I make their numbers larger, creating less movement and keeping the sculpt centered in the camera's view.
O/MI - I use a wide range of brushes, but typically Clay Buildup, Dam_Standard, Inflate, and Standard. That is for when I'm doing creature work mostly. For hard surface stuff I will use Clip Curve, Polish, Pinch and Dam_Standard again.
Nyx702 - the material you saw was a modified Skinshade04 with custom lighting. The scene was actually kind of broken when I loaded it, I forgot to change some settings before I took it to Siggraph haha.
oh man, saw thsi akready on your da, but i will say here again, great work
the whole design is really fresh, only thing you could do is push for smaller detail on the folds and define the ones around her crotch and legs, but i guess you had a time limit to finish thsi one ;]
Awesome sculpt! The elongated forms make the concentrated high detail areas pop. The face is great and I love the mask.
The suit reminds me of Trevor Claxton's 'Baby Cakes' concept. Great stuff.
Amazing, I find a lot of models a little bit repetitive, but this model is beautiful.
I don't know why but I love it a lot, thank you for sharing because
now I feel like I need to emulate the feeling I get from looking at your work
Thanks for the feedback! slocik, I think you are right. I wanted to have it feel a lot thicker, but adding more information to the wrinkles and their form would have helped it pop for sure. dingle001 - I totally see what your saying regarding Babycakes concept, I love that piece! Hopefully not too many similarites? DAYA - Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy the character
Wow, what an amazing character!
The only thing that throws me off is that the mask seems to be completely seperate from the rest of the materials and textures used in the rest of the character though, makes it really stick out a bit.
