I really love that image. I also noticed some odd similarity with an element in one of my most recent postings. strange spikes on shoulders
anyway, absolutely wonderful work. 5 starts from me too.

Thank you Julian! I also notice the spikes on the shoulders of your character. I posted this picture in April on the official website ZBrush French, so there is no problem for me.

I like your style the ghost 3 is my favorite
I hope you didn't misunderstand me and thought I am pointing this similarity out because either of us might have "stolen" from the other. that is by no means the case. I just thought it was a funny coincidence ,because I did my spikes late last night and before I went to bed I saw you post which I instantly liked. there is actually even another little coincidence. I have a character which I'll post soon who is basically naked but wears an old fashioned hat. not a cylinder, - a bowler, -but still - you don't see old fashioned hats and spikes on naked characters here every dayOriginally Posted by kargall

@Frenchy Pilou - Bacon link works again. thanks for telling me. must have messed up last time I updated signatures.
next time send me a private message though. we shouldn't high-jack other artist's threads
Thanks for the compliment on my work, kargall.
I think you should post your first four or five images larger in this thread, I would if I were you, they are simply spectacular!
Post the whole images. They deserve to be seen.
great to see something new from you. love the 2d/3d mix.
great job on the coloring.
the only thing that bothers me a little is the way the bust ends/cuts off.
btw, I have meanwhile posted my (almost) nude man with hat here :

Thank you Julian_K
Me too I like it too much , I could have made an effort but this is a test sculpt
Your new character is amazing, definitely we have much in common, I did (long ago) a character giving the body what ends in a dress, I'll look ...
Already impressed from your work (3DC forum). Very very well done kargall
5* here
I still believe that an auto-retopo (with guides) export + the tri (scene export) from voxel palette of 3dc, reproject in ZB is the best way to go. Dense quads desn't respect scaling at this the moment. This will give you some problems sooner or later.
Beautiful work!
hello
I dared not show the image here, but I say why not? I did it some time ago
This is a sketch and I do not know if I finish the final draft.
Made with ZB3.5 in pixol and rendered in ZB 3.5. (I do not like the rendering ZB4)

So gruesome! Can we see it in just the red wax? or the low-poly geometry? Did you start it in ZSpheres?
I have to admit I am still a little fuzzy on exactly how images like this are done with the balance between geometry and pixol art. Can you explain a little about how much of this was done as true 3D tools and how much of it is in 2.5D?
It looks like it's about the same workflow as in this tutorial: http://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/store/product/239/ which I have seen, but it's still a little daunting!

I can only say 2 things -
1. you got that far, you should finish it, it's definitely worth it.
2. give rendering in Zbrush 4 a try. you can anyway render just as you did in 3.5, and/or get a bit more into BPR rendering and even combine both.
on a side-note; there has been a discussion about whether BPR or Best Render shadow casting is more correct. one things is for sure the shadows which are cast by one object onto another are oddly wrong when you render with Best Render, but work quite well with BPR. in a scene like yours here that can be crucial when you for example want the vase cast a shadow on the table or both onto the character.
Good taste Kargall. Beautiful.
Even if surrealism never was my favorite art movement.
Do I have to say that these are top row images?
I mostly agree with Julian about BPR. Give it a try. Multiple passes is the key.
But an export to blender is always better. BTW do you know that you can transfer multi resolution zb meshes to blender? Superior to any technique based on displacement maps.
