Default Z4 Beta Testing By: Dave Wolf

These are a few of my test projects with the new ZBrush. Not having a traditional 3D background, Z4 has opened doors I once thought not possible. The new tools continue to push the boundaries of ingenuity and allow the artists to be artists once more.

The following are some experiments with the new Timeline, which is great for presentations as well as functions that aid in the production/rendering process.

I want to thank Pixologic for involving me in this amazing experience. I want to thank my fellow beta testers for inspiring and teaching me so much. And to everyone out there in ZBC land, I can't wait to see what awesome creations you devise! Please let me know if you have questions on anything, and I'll do my best to reply.

    Thanks,
    Dave Wolf

chemkid: Thanks, and sorry about the videos. I uploaded them to YouTube for now, at least until I can fin a better way to host them.

The trex is just a WIP, and also an experiment with the new SSS materials. It does look a bit like a hairless cat... Ha!

    Thanks,
    Dave Wolf

The Heart is simply awesome, the spotlight texturing looks great, though I think the dropbox links choked to death.

dagoned: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

CorDox: Thanks! I didn't foresee the dropbox having a limit, but I guess it wasn't meant for the masses. I'm trying to figure out another way to host it. Please check back later if you're interested in the workflow.

    Thanks,
    Dave Wolf

Is the heart the same model? animated sculpt and material paint in time line?

    adrift22: Thanks!

interspace: I'm glad everybody is digging the heart!

Tomala: Thanks, I'm glad you liked the Cliff Skipper! He was fun to create, and I have more lans for hime down the road. Sorry about the tutorial, but I think it's back up and working again. There was a bit of excessive traffic for a while. Let me know if you can view or download it.

Dmonk: Thanks! I hope you found it useful. I'm planning other tutorials that go into spotlight a little further. Check back later!

3dassets: Yes, the heart is one mesh from start to finish and the paint are two different layers and just animating the opacity. I might put together a tutorial on how I achieved this if people are interested.

    Thanks,
    Dave Wolf

Tomala: Thanks for checking back in. It was my first tutorial, so it would be nice to know what you thought... honestly. I'd like to do some more, so I want to make sure they're easy to follow.

    Thanks,
    Dave Wolf

Zwolf, I like your heart, I mean the heart
Would love to see how to do that, it is what I dream of what Zbrush can do, are you able to export the models as morph? It would be awesome, thank you very much.
