Just a word. I've had extensive conversations with Pixologic Tech Support over the use of Pinch brush specifically on fiberbesh. It results in separations of the two points that make up the fibermesh segments on occasion. The only way to fix damaged segments is to go in with preview turned off and manually move them back together. These errors will appear in BPR as "buldges" in the fiber at rendertime. I've been told by Paul specifically to never use pinch on fibers. Take that for what it's worth.

Wow this is awesome, thanks for taking the time to put together this Fibermesh tutorial. Really cool for you to share your method.
So far I haven't created anything that has hair but now I'll be sure to try your method once I do : )

    Godless Dog: No worries.

nimajneb : Thanks for the info. I only use Pinch to taper the fibers together so I won't have to do any grooming in Maya when I export the curves out.

That being said, I've never had any problems at render time in Zbrush. Observe, bulge-free hair

This is almost exactly like the method I use with the exception of the GroomHairLong brush. Going to have to give that one a try as the styling gets a bit dodgy, thanks.

    Thumbs up

Very helpful fiber tutorial, thanks a lot for taking the time to make it.

"You may notice some gaps which make your subject look bald.
No one wants that, look how angry she looks...
" ~ that sentence gave me a chuckle

    Great result, lovely work, Cheers

Glad you liked it guys. The smooth brush is my fix for kinks in the hair. Close to the tip with Preserve Length at 0, it makes the fibers shorter. Close to the root, it averages the fibers and smooths it out. Try it.

K.A.D.U stands for Kinetic Assisted Defence Unit. Based on a sketch by Fightpunch which I modified slightly. Sculpted entirely in Zbrush.
