This looks great. I'm interested to see how you used marvelous designer. I guess you went back and sculpted over the initial results?

penrod: Yup, that's exactly what I did. I started this project using Marvelous Designer 2, but I don't think there are any features for this stylized look in the new version.

Anyway here's the final thing and a shot from Marvelous Designer (bigger images can be viewed in my portfolio):

P.S. before someone spot the similarities, the model was based on a character from the movie The Boat That Rocked. The second pose is pretty much a copy of a shot from the movie.

    Hey guys,

I missed the deadline for Comicon challenge, but I thought I'd share my final result here anyway.
The stand/pedestal/scene was put together a couple of hours before the deadline, so I'm not too crazy about how the final image turned out but there is no way I'm spending any more time on it. Lessons learned, knowledge acquired, it's time to move on.
Around 30k tris without the stand but I definitely could've optimized the low poly better.
    Some pictures:

Awesome Joker! You did a great job with the clothing as well!

This is excellent, I don't know why you'd be unhappy with any part of it. One would like to see it in a more realistic render I suppose, but it isn't essential, the way it is now lends a certain charm to it.

What a great job you did on the clothing!

    Wonderful!

Sorry to hear you missed the deadline. I think this would have been a good entry in the challenge.

Thanks everybody, glad you like this piece

I've decided to get back to it and fix the render and materials just a tad. The previous version was put together literally half an hour before the deadline hit. Not a big difference, but it looks more subtle and I like the composition better this time around.
