T.Rex

Hello people!!!

That work I MADE WAS baseD in the movie " king kong " I used references of the proper movie, and the crocodile modelings by Alex oliver and Antropus, in my opinion this is my best work. I’m posting a small step by step and how it was done that modeling.
Before begin any work of my, i get inspiration in great artists like Alex Oliver, that actually was my teacher, Antropus, Steve Jubinville and Aaron Sims.
Well, I hope you all Like it and a big hug for you guys!!!
thanks,

Stefanuto

man i love that rex!, lighting great, texture great… overall i love it… i think it should have a bit more weight in the back leg belly area… looks to small in comparison with the head and neck. well done…drool is cool too.

yeh he does seem a bit “top heavy”…whcihc kind of makes the renders amusing because it looks like he’s falling over…and i actually like that…lol…

Excellent presentation! Great attention to detail, I especially like the head. I also agree with robo3687 that it seems a little top heavy, I think the body could literally be twice as big. Should be pretty quick and easy to correct. Great work, very professional!

Thats one funky T-rex…Love your final texturing and image.Excellent work.

So close to being a ‘great’ sculpt! If you can, try to get in and work the skin folds at the joints & where the limbs join the body, head to neck etc.
If you look at the rear view, where the legs / buttocks / tail all meet, you’ll know what i mean.
You’ve done some amazing hand-sculpted fine detailing, awesome work; just breaking up the surface of all those scales with some fine alpha details will push it that final little bit.

All that said, it’s beautiful piece - congrats

Ok you have GOT to make a tutorial on how you’re making your scales look so clean and well defined. Is that just from alphas and a high brush mod setting?

I love all the detail shots, these are going in my reference library.

Only a few crits. The topology looks really nice and clean except for that one pole on the side of the neck. Just carry that edge all the way up to complete the loop - problem solved. I’m used to seeing T-Rex with a proportionally larger head, shorter neck, and more developed jaw muscles. Also, T-Rex has over 60 teeth.

Amazing dino, man.

holy **** Love this T-rex. You have made the process look so easy

We need Pete Minister to see this thread I am sure he would love this dino

Brilliant work and I really want to make a dino now

Holy moley…ha…stunning stuff.

I love a good movie t rex…the supposedly realistic ones are so…lame.

I just made an alpha from your skin detail…ha…hope you dont mind.

Peter

what? you sculpted each flake separately ??? crazy !! the render is great! a little small… but

Payed off all the hard work, I’m enjoying the second to last render

Gorgeous piece!
The skin is excellent. Gonna use this thread for rererence art. Hope ya don’t mind

Grest reproduction, those details are amazingly tight and clean, gratz:+1:

Really gruesome Stef, I like it.

Thanks for the comments. I also like the T.Rex movie and there is no problem to make the alphas with my T.Rex skins.
