    Default My WIP thread

    Hi Guys,
I'm trying to get better at sculpting and build a portfolio, so Ii thought I'd open this thread to get some critiques and stuff.

First project is a sculpt of John collier's lilith, the hair seems to be the most challenging part and so far I've blocked it out.

Can't get over the hair, looks so dense and detailed! Do you still have your history saved on this piece? Would love to see a timelapse if so!

Agree with Icebox. The hair is particularly great and a workflow video/explaination would be very interesting !

    Hello YOu,

very cool work! i like the hair alot and the way the overall figure is working.
On the other hand i would change the right upper arm. It should kind of
become one with the torso at least close to the shoulder.

    regards,

Hey thanks for your responses! The hair is my favorite bit too turned out better than I expected

For the hair, I used dynamesh to block out a very simple shape, then used claytubes to block out large clumps and claytubesnap to create each lock, using the inflate, move, and snakehook brushes to shape them.

Unfortunately I don't have the history, but the method I used is based on Ryan Kingslien's workflow here:
http://vimeo.com/channels/533750/67517786, which he explains in much more detail here: http://www.zbrushworkshops.com/lesso...ryan-kingslien

I'll post a quick breakdown of mine when I'm done though, as I'm using a slightly different method.

Yeah, you're right it looks kinda dislocated, I'll fix that, thanks a lot.
