His process of rendering displacements, of animating, or of rigging and skinning a character?

Three very seperate tasks you might be asking about. Some clarification required.

This test is to see the displacement behavior in a animated low mesh. Also the implementation of textures in a skin shader.

    The process is:

    - Import the low model in OBJ format

    - Create bones and apply the Skin modifier.

    - Apply meshsmooth. Viewport: 2 | Render: 6 (for appreciate the details)

    - Apply the modifier displacement, activating use mapping existent.

    - For the render I have used Brazil. It incorporates the best sss skin shader. With the following parameters.

    - Shader: Brazil Advanced with Base Shader: Skin

Brazil R/S - rendering plugin for 3D Studio Max, produced by Blur Studios alumni. Check out their feature gallery for a quick overview.
