Go In Depth with...ZRemesher 3.0 - DetectEdges
Let's familiarize ourselves a little better with ZRemesher's DetectEdges functionality. In this Lesson example, we'll take a gear model that has a triangulated mesh with no PolyGroups or no mesh ID, but has edges to help utilize the DetectEdges function. Once DetectEdges is activated, we can convert our mesh to quad based geometry, create PolyGroups, and most importantly retain our clean or hard edges. This function can assist with future mesh editing including Dividing and sculpting or features that utilize PolyGroups.

Here are some additional dragonslayer images. I painted a different face because I wasn't happy with the original one. and another render of the original.

Thanks, Rasmus I'm glad you like it. Here is what I'm working on now. Started as an anatomy sketch but I may turn it into a WW1 soldier zombie. Most likely British because I like their helmets.

That's looking great. Nice attention to detail on his WW1 haircut.

latest personal project
Hi guys, just wanted to show my latest personal project. The last gunslinger receiving praise after his victory in the latest galaxy gladiator tournament. It all started with a quick zbrush sketch I did a while back. I dug it up and worked on it over the last 2 months on and off. Mainly zbrush but also some Modo and Oculus Medium, textured in Substance Painter. As always feedback is very welcome! Cheers

Nils Meyer art dump/sketchbook
Hi guys, I finally found time to do some art and finish up some old stuff. Wanted to drop the results here. Feedback and comments are very welcome. Thanks! I'm not sure how much this belongs here. This is an Oculus Medium Sketch, rendered in Keyshot. I had to go through Zbrush for the Keyshot bridge, does that count? And a PS paintover. I'm a little rusty at best when it comes to 2D stuff :S

Here is a grey version of that guy. I also dug up some other older stuff. That second Alien was another sketch I created around the same time as the first one about 2 years ago. I do like the head/face but the body not so much. One other thing I have never posted is one of my old models for Splinter Cell Blacklist. I modeled Sam Fisher's face from scratch , no scan data involved. This guy went through countless iterations to hit what our art and creative director liked. Unfortunately it's a last gen game so we didn't have a skinshader and therefore the skin looks very unrealistic but I still like the sculpt. The suit was done by my friend Mark Vick by the way. You feedback is very welcome. Thanks a bunch, Nils

Nils art dump
Hi everyone, I haven't posted anything in a loooong time. Apparently it has been such a long time that I don't even remember the username I used back then. Anyway, I missed getting online feedback and planned to be a lot more active from now on again. I'll use this as my art dump and thought I'd start it with an older image most of you haven't seen, hope you liked it. It was used for the cover of an issue of 3D creative magazine and printed in digital art masters. I hope you like it. I'll try to dig up the grey scale if you guys are interested. Cheers!
