Go In Depth with...ZRemesher 3.0 - DetectEdges
Let's familiarize ourselves a little better with ZRemesher's DetectEdges functionality. In this Lesson example, we'll take a gear model that has a triangulated mesh with no PolyGroups or no mesh ID, but has edges to help utilize the DetectEdges function. Once DetectEdges is activated, we can convert our mesh to quad based geometry, create PolyGroups, and most importantly retain our clean or hard edges. This function can assist with future mesh editing including Dividing and sculpting or features that utilize PolyGroups.

Woff
More fan art from the Hilda series. This is a Woff... A.K.A. floating dog ball. The sculpt, textures and hair distribution maps were created in Zbrush. The fur is a quick V-Ray Fur setup. Rendered with V-Ray Next.

Woodman
Here is the Woodman character. He was sculpted and textured in zbrush. I setup a few different poly paints to control the moss and lichens I generated with iToo Forest Pack. Primary 3d software was 3dsMax. Rendered with VRay.

Hilda the Series Fanart
Fanart of Luke Pearson's Hilda. Huge fan of the stories and cartoon. This personal piece started with a quick pencil sketch and then quickly expanded. Rough and final sculpt was done in Zbrush. Retopo/basemesh, rig, morph targets, hair, etc. was done in 3dsMax (using native tools). Original hair setup was created with Zbrush's Fibermesh and brought over to 3dsMax, but later was recreated with 3dsMax's Hair&Fur (shave&haircut). I created a few tileable displacement/alphas for the clothing. This piece was setup and rendered with VRay Next. The new hair material is a HUGE improvement! Some minor post work was done to closer match the awesome color palette used in the Hilda Series. I learned a number of lessons when working with UDIMs, asset setup and Zbrush's HD Geometry. Looking forward to improving my workflow on the next piece! Also, I have a Blog on my Artstation account displaying WIPs for any who are interested. https://www.artstation.com/nearl/blog

Woodman
Hilda fan art of Woodman. Sculpted and textured in Zbrush, modeled in 3dsmax, detailed with iToo Forest Pack (distribution and cluster maps painted in zbrush) and rendered with V-Ray. I need to find some rich person to pay me large sums of money to recreate 2D cartoon characters for a living

Skeleton
Here are some quick renders. I need to refine a few things, but here it is at its current state. All bones are separate elements, including the bones of the skull. I looked through Netter's and Gray's Anatomy text books for anatomical accuracy per bone. It has 22 textures (UDIM) all ranging from 4-8k.

Krampuskarten
Gruss Vom Krampus! (Greeting from Krampus!) Tis the season for being punished for your naughty deeds over the year. You know who you are. If you made it through Krampusnacht you get to enjoy these Cuckcoo Clock renderings. Hopefully St. Nick will recover from his bump on the head for his Feast later today. Krampus and Nick just don’t get along. Folklore is a fun subject to read about and illustrate. I hope you and your love ones have a wonderful holiday season!…and that Krampus didn’t stuff you in his bag. This piece was setup in 3dsMax, sculpted in Zbrush and rendered with V-Ray RT. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Tree of Life
I created this piece for artwork at Chiropractor's office. I tried to keep the elements as clean as possible and stuck to forms found in human anatomy (Arteries, Cilia, and Spine). Sculpted in Zbrush. Rendered with V-Ray. Very little post work.

I'll bet the chiropractor thought that was the coolest thing. Really cool composition and concept. Did you get any direction from the client?

The chiropractor had sent me a low resolution water painting of a spine with green "fluff" coming out the top of the spine and asked me to come up with something....So I ran with it. They were pretty happy with the end result.

Kurt the Kidney
Here is an original character I developed to educate using humor, about human anatomical function and health. Sculpted and textured with Zbrush. Setup in 3dsMax. Rendered with V-Ray. I plan to make more situations and characters to go along with him. I hope you find it disturbing and weird https://vimeo.com/291152740

Storybots - HAP
This is a quick little project to take a break from other bigger projects. This little character's name is HAP and is from Netflix's Storybots. I've always thought the flapping head 2D characters were creepy...even more so in 3d I sculpted and textured him in Zbrush. Fibermesh was setup for the brows and mustache. Multiple polypaints were created to control the fuzz. I extracted everything and brought him into 3dsMax where I setup Hair&Fur (anyone want to buy me Ornatrix?...PLEASE!), V-Ray Fur, a simple rig, shaders and lighting. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/kLR_RDAISr4

1st Likeness Sculpt - Guess Who
I'm starting my first likeness portrait from scratch. I thought it would be fun to post WIPs and have people guess who it will be. If someone gets it right it will tell me I'm on the right track Here is the first WIP. I spent approximately 3 hours. Hint: He is a fairly well known actor. Constructive Criticism Welcome!

Land Before Time
My son is a dinosaur addict, so I thought it would be fun to recreate the Land Before Time characters. Here is a WIP of Little Foot. Model and Polypaint all in Zbrush. Pulled into 3ds Max and rendered with V-Ray. Still need to fine tune some things but, I'll hold off until I have all of the main characters to this level. Spike is next CC welcome, Enjoy!

You've clearly got a fantastic handle on the texturing; both the reproductive tract and the figure model are textured really nicely. I do a have a few hopefully constructive crits on the figure. The proportions are generally good, though a bit on the...
