Go In Depth with...ZRemesher 3.0 - DetectEdges
Let's familiarize ourselves a little better with ZRemesher's DetectEdges functionality. In this Lesson example, we'll take a gear model that has a triangulated mesh with no PolyGroups or no mesh ID, but has edges to help utilize the DetectEdges function. Once DetectEdges is activated, we can convert our mesh to quad based geometry, create PolyGroups, and most importantly retain our clean or hard edges. This function can assist with future mesh editing including Dividing and sculpting or features that utilize PolyGroups.

Hi everyone, I've started working on some new characters for an illustration. Thought I'd share some things here and get some feedback. I'm starting with a character I call "the Messenger". I hope you enjoy. Dj.

Ironmaiden......an illustration
Hello everyone. Thought I’d post anotherironmaidenweb1.jpg illustration piece I was working on. Almost all in Z. I know most people are using Z to model, but don’t miss trying it for all kinds of other stuff. Thanks go out to Jantim as usual for his great materials. A few in this piece were mine, but the main materials were his kindly contribution. As always, comments and crits are welcome. Thanks Word.

That`s really cool! It`s refreshing to see something other than yet another monster bust. To be honest, I read the thread title and expected to be confronted with a heavy metal album cover, but was happily mistaken! Have you tried a version with...

Mark, thank you for the suggestion. I see where the blue tones work with the orange. Nothing major, but a gentle color infusion. I’ll play more, this was a way to see if I was interpreting your idea correctly. I also made a subtle lighting change for a bit more depth.................no name ideas yet. Lear…thank you the generous compliment. GirlintheWindow2.jpg Word.

Nice image, I almost missed it. I like the idea, but the stone needs a bit more work. You used the same alpha for the cracks and also the texture seems to repeat. I think you can push that image to a better result giving it a more natural look, some dirt...

I like the concept very much. I think your piece would "gain" something if the woman portrayed had a more "beautiful" facial features, according to human standards... She still can have an elongated skull in the back, and somewhat elfish ears... But all...

J, Thank you for your E-Mail. Yes, the wing is Zspheres. I am including the Zsphere before and after (without feathers and color). Also, the wall after using MAKE3D. The rest was just using Z’s tools to sculpt and paint. If you’d like a more detailed description I’d be happy to provide. Word

Fallen
Hello everyone, I wanted to post this for a couple of reasons. First, to get feedback, and critiques but also to thank everyone that has been so helpful in my learning curve (which will always continue), even if we have never spoken specifically. When I decided to do a picture for myself rather than for someone else, I thought, what better way to start to learn this incredible program, than to try to use as many Zbrush functions in my creation as I could. So, here it is, I used everything from Alphas to Zspheres (with a sprinkling of textures, primitives, and materials) all thrown together. Not to mention a bunch of Zscripts I finally decided to learn from all those smart enough to write them. Thanks again to all those tenured Zbrushers that are sure making us newer folks feel at home. First Image post
Hello everyone, I wanted to finally post a WIP of mine to get feedback and/or suggestions. This is one piece of an Illustration I am working on. My intent is to use Zbrush to enhance the work I do in print. I'd like to send a special thank you to Aurick, for his help awhile back with a textureing problem I had. I know this isn't the typical image I've been seeing here, but let me know what you think. Thank you in advance............. Word brownstonefront1.jpg

that turned out pretty good! I did a street scene about a million years ago in 3ds 3.0 that I have been thinking about trying to do in Zbrush. You show that with some forethought on my part that it is very possible and can look good too!! Thanks...
