Let's familiarize ourselves a little better with ZRemesher's DetectEdges functionality. In this Lesson example, we'll take a gear model that has a triangulated mesh with no PolyGroups or no mesh ID, but has edges to help utilize the DetectEdges function. Once DetectEdges is activated, we can convert our mesh to quad based geometry, create PolyGroups, and most importantly retain our clean or hard edges. This function can assist with future mesh editing including Dividing and sculpting or features that utilize PolyGroups.

Thanks everyone for your constant support over the years and kind words. I finished my quick October studies that really focused on texturing and testing Marmoset Toolbag's new skin shader but I thought I'd share them here too, since the modeling was done in Zbrush. The hair cards were placed using IMM curve brush from Ben Hale.

So perfect! as always, clothes are so realistic , Mrs Magdalena you make me cry How do you proceed for wearing your models? You draw a mask on the character and then press extract for a new subtool? or modeling them in maya and sculpt in Zbrush...

Happy Holidays!
Here's a bit of Christmas Fun and a study after Layendecker. I wasn't trying to copy his image faithfully, but rather capture the spirit of it so it's not exact by any means and I added some things to the scene too ... It was a good exercise. Happy Holidays folks.

thanks again folks. I wanted the eyes to feel murky and foggy and dark, I'm glad it works. nagulov - very simple setup. 2 meshes, with turbosmooth on. The outer one is just a clear shader with high gloss and reflectivity, the inner one has the map shown below on it plugged in to the SSS shader

zgoncu - thanks boozy floozie - thanks a lot. I'm not really the best person to ask about this, since I begin most of the clothing outside zbrush and just refine it with sculpting. I find, a proper base mesh to be crucial. I think it's still possible to get a nice result starting from dynamesh or zspheres but obviously, not for further texturing or animation. Pablander - thanks very much I think once u comment u're subscribed Seems to work that way for me and any of the threads I visited. psylife - cheers! yeah there's sth off about the arms, though I'd say the upper ones. I re sculpted them so many times that I think I lost sth in the process for sure. About the calves, well she's got high heels on, which change the shape of the leg, and the woman I used as refs had prominent calf. I kinda liked it Thnx for taking the time to comment here's a quick sketch from yesterday for a change, cheers!

Intervain - sketchbook
Hi everyone. I haven't posted here for way too long. Time to start a sketchbook I think Here's a few models I worked on lately in my spare time: Death of the endless - a bit of fanart, based on Neil Gaiman's character [rendered in vray] Sherlock - another bit of fan art, just some fun Finall, current WIP - that's what this thread is for, Summer dress - I started her this week... early days, lots to be done cheers.

Missing a few images? LOoks great what you have. LOve how your using textures to get extra detail looks fantastic in Vray. I guess that is better than mental ray now? I've been out of the loop. I'm Fascinated by the difference in folding for materials too.

ZBrush 4R2 Beta Testing By: Magdalena Dadela
Hi Everyone It's been great fun to try out the new features of Zbrush. Unfortunately with the move to a different continent and a new country at the same time [not to mention an 11" laptop ] I had little time to create art... Here are 2 simple sketches I've made to test out dynamesh, mesh insert, lightcaps and the new matcap features, and many more of the new tricks added by Pixologic to our arsenal. I've also attached the matcap and a lightcap I've used to make these renders. Click on the Z-logo to download it Cheers and I look forward to the awesome art that comes out of this forum in the future
