Let's familiarize ourselves a little better with ZRemesher's DetectEdges functionality. In this Lesson example, we'll take a gear model that has a triangulated mesh with no PolyGroups or no mesh ID, but has edges to help utilize the DetectEdges function. Once DetectEdges is activated, we can convert our mesh to quad based geometry, create PolyGroups, and most importantly retain our clean or hard edges. This function can assist with future mesh editing including Dividing and sculpting or features that utilize PolyGroups.

Ladybug 2
Here is the second Ladybug that I modeled in Zbrush and that I am publishing on Turbosquid. This one is suitable for extreme close-ups. The first one I did was originally for a car commercial for Cadillac and was only suitable to be seen from far. I improved that first version a bit adding fur and published it no Turbosquid a few years ago. Then I did another Ladybug (a yellow one that was standing up) from scratch for a Youtube video paid by Marvel to promote the movie Antman, it was called Little Antman. I then started from that model to make the most realistic ladybug (red this time) that I could to sell on Turbosquid. Since there are already many ladybugs on TS I wanted to make a very realistic and detailed one suitable for macro close-ups. I bought and learned to use Ornatrix with that model and loved it. I can’t wait to make some fur animals now! So here is the model. That version is not rigged yet. I am planning to make a rigged and an animated version soon. https://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/1186265?referral=Strob Zbrush, Max, V- Ray, Ornatrix

Little Antman
Hi, I just finished working on a YouTube promotional clip for Marvel Entertainment for the upcoming Antman. I worked on this during the last 8 weeks around 20 hours a day almost 7 days a week. Insects modeled and painted in zbrush 4R7, shaded, animated (rigged with CAT) and rendered in 3ds Max 2016 and V-Ray 3. With Director Patrick Boivin (with whom I did also Iron Baby many years ago). This time we were paid by Marvel Entertainment to do it! Big Thanks to them and to Pat for letting me work on this!!! See the end of the video for the full credits. A big thanks to Daniel Beaudry et Gian who helped me for the character animation (Pat also animated himself the flying ant). I really perfected my knowledge of Zbrush while creating those insects and I could really appreciate all the genius of zbrush creators while working on this project. I used dynamesh and zremesher a lot, I unwrapped the uvs and send them to max back and forth and it worked so well that it was an intense pleasure to work with such a software masterpiece. I am now convinced zbrush will still be used in hundreds of years from now! see the clip on my Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-7_0MYMUB8 v-7_0MYMUB8 And some screengrabs... (I'll post some more detailed view of my models later but for now I have to take care a my newborn baby who is born just at the end of this production).

Hi! I did a lot of work and research since my last post and I upgraded my computer too!!! My old one was so slow to work in Zbrush (I had only 1GB of RAM now I have 4). Thanks to my friend JR, I learned how to do some bump map using the bump map viewer. How come this feature is not blinking on the top page of the Zbrush website??? I mean it was not obvious that it was there... Also looked back at my fisrt concept drawings I did for this creature and decided to go for a more exagerated look. I think everyone will stop saying it looks like their grandparents! LOL! Yeti.jpg
