Let's familiarize ourselves a little better with ZRemesher's DetectEdges functionality. In this Lesson example, we'll take a gear model that has a triangulated mesh with no PolyGroups or no mesh ID, but has edges to help utilize the DetectEdges function. Once DetectEdges is activated, we can convert our mesh to quad based geometry, create PolyGroups, and most importantly retain our clean or hard edges. This function can assist with future mesh editing including Dividing and sculpting or features that utilize PolyGroups.

Looks good. The ears need some more definition which I'm sure you're aware of, and unless he is meant to have large pouty lips you might want to make them thinner and less wide horizontally, but otherwise everything is looking spot-on.

Thats pretty cool mate! Are u using HDRI for your render or just maya lights? A couple of crits, the perspective seems a bit much and the background could be a little less grainy! It generally turned out nicely! keep it up!!!

This is coming along amazingly man! I think where the fingers start u should make it a bit thinner, were they connect the skin is thinner. Also try making all the knuckles more pronounced and the nails longer, i think it will give him an eviler look! ...

mjackson126: Thanks brotha! After looking at it for a few days I've noticed a few things to add. But I already submitted and I am REALLY digging this piece. Cherea: Thanks. You can find NGart's original concept here. He is extremely talented. Here's another up. Got a lot to do on the hands and all the gruesome tendons. Also gotta keep the mouth consistent with the top and bottom gums. Right now just adding all the pieces cause I took the face pretty far. Also want to know what can and can not be seen and focus on that. I'm gonna ask the original artist to see if he wants to design the chair that he sits in. If not, then I'm gonna go Frazetta on it lol. Happy New Year! I'm gonna spend it Zbrushing! 1 tn.jpg 1.jpg

ivar_sn: Thanks. Yeah soon as I saw that art I had to sculpt it. Its gonna be a nice addition to the portfolio! Moni-Poroni: Thanks. Yeah the mouth was the main reason I wanted to sculpt it along with all the tendon looking things. Hopefully Zspheres2 can help me out. Liking where this is going. But still got a lot to do. Gonna try to finish this in 2 weeks. 1 tn.jpg 1.jpg

I really dig the sculpt and the pose but I'm not crazy about the flames...I think it detracts way too much attention from the character. It looked better when it was hand drawn because it was blurry and more of a background element. Maybe depth of field...

meletis: Hmm, yeah I will probably have to wait til the end to add those striations. I do see your point and how it will add to his strength. I just can't see it in my head yet. Here is an up. Rough comp and the flames in the back need some more work. Just wanted to make sure it looked cool. Also gotta add some rim lighting on him to really sell the fire behind him. 1.jpg

Its coming along very nicely man!! Really like the environment too! U can probably import some plants from another 3D application to add more interest! I still think u can add more definition to the muscles, especialy around the shoulder and chest...
